The most Appropriate Company would probably be The Bauer Media Group because they already distribute magazines like Kerrang, Q and MOJO. Because of its involvement with these brands and the fact that they throw out 35 million magazines a week, it would be a good idea to bring them on board as the distributer. They would already know what was going on and how to effectively distribute the product so little research would have to be done and they would also have ties to other companies that would make the process smoother.

What Have I Learnt
Before I started the course I already had a pretty good idea of how to use Photoshop CS4 to manipulate and improve pictures, how to make websites and blogs, how to take good photographs and the techniques like making up geometric shapes, the golden line and the rule of thirds and what makes an interesting visual. However I did learn that making an image that didn’t work at all, like the one on my cover, work takes to much effort and it would have been much easier to have re-taken the photograph. It was wrong because the subjects stretched across the photo to both sides meaning I couldn’t cut them out and preventing me from using the conventions of a normal magazine.
Since my preliminary task I have learnt the techniques and conventions of a successful magazine and which ones I can subvert without ruining it. I have learnt about how the golden line can also be used to make magazines easier to read and more exciting and how that it is very important to stick to a house style to link the pages together.
Although I did eventually learn all these things it did take a long time to develop my magazine as the 40 different designs show. I did find it difficult at first simply because I didn’t know what to do with my picture as I couldn’t separate the subject from the words so I had to paste coloured boxes over the photo to make the titles more visible. This made it look unprofessional so I decided to turn the boxes into a different style.
